2670 - Von Duprin
Von Duprin's model 2670 is also called the Guard-X. The 100 decibel alarm is ideal for emergency exit doors and is often used in the back rooms of stores and restaurants. It is easy to install with ordinary tools and operates on a standard 9v battery.
When ordering multiple Guard-X devices it is often desired to have all cylinders use the same key. Order cylinders "Keyed Alike" when this is required. When ordering a Guard-X device you simply specify model 2670 x Finish. Aluminum finish is the most common (US28), but it is also available in Dark Bronze (313AN) and Black (315AN).
The standard strike furnished with the Guard-X is called a 267 strike. It is specially designed to hold the deadbolt securely in position. When properly installed, the 2670 can withstand 1600 lbs. of force against break in. Replacement strikes are available from our stock. The strike is installed onto the stop of the door frame and typically requires that holes be drilled and tapped. If ordering frames from the factory they will pre-prep the frame to accept the strike.
Most installation typically use just the 9v battery furnished with the unit. It will cause the alarm to "chirp" should the battery become low. In remote installations, it is often desired to use an external power source in addition to the battery. Model PT790 transformer is used which converts power from 120 volt AC to 9 volt DC. The lead from the transformer is wired into the Guard-X device. Note that using the PT790 will require that you run wires down the door frame and through the hinges. An electric hinge than transfers power to the door. A short wire run is drilled into the door to run the wires to the end of the Guard-X device.
