The CL-83 is a stand-alone digital keypad for access control applications.
This unit is weather-resistant (IP54) for outdoor / indoor use. It activates
a built-in, high-powered relay and operates from a 12/24 V AC or DC power
supply. The indoor keypad furnished with the system operates as a ''slave''
of the outdoor keypad.
Program the duration for the relay contact closure, setting the time the door remains latched or unlatched after the code is entered.
You can also set the system to toggle mode if necessary, shifting back and forth between latched and unlatched if required.
In addition to controlling the door latch, this keyless entry system can operate an auxiliary output.
Set this up to a buzzer, trigger a surveillance camera, or trigger any other notification that an employee has entered.
Each user code is programmable to operate the relay, the auxiliary output or both.
A special request-to-exit (REX) input is inlcuded.
Most often, REX signals are used with mag locks for a person exiting the door.
Upon exiting, the person will press a button or a touch bar to signal an exit request.
This signal runs through the keypad then unlocks the door (mag lock).
In addition to access control, the CL-83 can be integrated with an alarm
system for enhanced security.
The unit can arm or disarm an alarm system from the keypad.
An ''Ambush'' feature allows a person in distress to set off a silent alarm.
This can be accomplished be selecting a specific code that initiates the panic alarm.
A better method is available that does require users to remember a separate ''Ambush'' code.
This is the addition of a specific digit that can be added to a user code to signal an ''Ambush''.
For example, if all users are assigned 4-digit codes, a 5th digit can be designated
as the ''Ambush'' code. A user entering ''1-2-3-4'' could add ''9'' after the last digit
to set off the silent alarm.
