About Simplex Electrical Locks

E-Plex 2000 is for entry level access control.

E-Plex 5000 is for higher levels of control.

E-PLEX Locks
Battery Both versions operate by battery.
Lock Types The E2000 is only available in a standard lock, while the E5000 also comes in versions for mortise locks and panic device trim.
Audit Trail Only E5000 provides an audit trail.
Programming E2000 - at keypad only
E5000 - can be programmed at the keypad or by software (sold separately).

Keys and Cylinders

Once you've selected a model by it's features, you still have to make a decision regarding the cylinder. All locks use a keyed cylinder outside. Selecting the right cylinder type is the tricky part.

XS is a standard cylinder located in the lever.

You may also opt for an Interchangeable Core cylinder (figure 8 type cylinder). E2000 locks only use SFIC cylinders, while the E5000 can use either Small or Large format IC cores.
