Schlage Hardware

schlage door hardwareSchlage is part of Ingersoll Rand, which owns other hardware companies such as Ives, LCN and Von Duprin.

Known for their door locks, the Schlage brand now includes electronic hardware such as mag locks and power supplies.  These items were formerly Locknetics products, they are just sold under both Schlage and Locknetics brand names now.  We still list them as Locknetics to sort out the confusion.

Lock Functions

Functions confuse a lot of people, but only because there are so many to choose from.

Schlage has done a very good job with their model numbers, which helps keep track of functions.  The designation for each function remains the same regardless of which series lock you need.

Most jobs, big or small, only use 6 standard functions.  The others are "specialty" functions that are rarely used.  So knowing the 6 main functions serves most jobs.

Product Tips Quick Tip

Functions are the hardest part.  Once function is selected you simply designate lever style and finish.

Lock Finishes

Schlage Finishes

Finishes are pretty easy to understand.  The only confusing issue is all finishes have two names.

US3, for example is the "US Name" and 605 is it's BHMA equivalent.  They mean exactly the same thing.

Either name can be used when ordering.
