About Locknetics Rectifers

  • Operates from 12 to 30 volts
  • Splices in-line
  • RC1 filters power against fluctuations

Tips From The Pros

The industry standard for commercial door hardware is DC voltage, either 12 or 24 volt.

Beware of product operating on other voltages. You will not be able to mix and match products as needed, but instead be tied to some proprietary system.

Current running throught a building is AC ''pulsating'' power. If you could hear that power it would be like a very fast clicking noise. Commercial hardware likes the clean, smooth power that comes with DC. It would sound like a long, continuous tone.

Rectifiers convert pulsating power to continuous power.

More Tips

A common use of a rectifier is connecting electrified hardware to an AC power source. Some power supplies output AC power, though often not in the 12 or 24 voltage required

Systems like CCTV systems operate quite often on AC power and it could be required that an electric strike needs connecting. Intercom systems also commonly use AC power but might have a need to unlock a door as well.

Since electrified hardware operates on DC voltage the rectifier would be used near the lock to convert the power to DC with these AC systems.
