505EIR Power Supplies Notes |
- 505 is now model 505EIR -see 505
- EIR stands for Emergency Interface Relay and allows you to connect the fire alarm system to the power supply.
It is included standard on model 505 (hence the name change), but must be ordered separately for 510 and 515 models.
- Locknetics is not known for bargain pricing, but the 505EIR is an exception.
- A drawback of the 505 is a timer card cannot be plugged into the main board.
That doesn't bother most people as they would rather splice in an in-line timer anyway.
- Every system needs a timer. It controls the unlock time of the door.
There are in-line models from HES, Securitron, SDC and Locknetics that are all relatively inexpensive
and do a fine job.

510 Power Supplies Notes |
- The 510 can be used on single doors or up to 6 doors independently -see 510
- When used on a single door, it typically has special requirements
such as tying into a separate security system.
- Most often, model 510 is used on two doors which requires the use
of a DCM, Dual Control Module. This module allows you to operate the doors
completely independently from each other.
- You also have the option to operate the doors in tandem, such as vestibule
doors. The 510 allows you the flexibility to setup the doors as needed.
|
515 Power Supplies Notes |
- The 515 is used to control up to 8 doors independently -see 515
- You must specify either 12 or 24 volt DC output when ordering.
- The 515 produces more amp power than the other models since it must control more doors.
- The same plug-in modules are available for model 515 as with model 510.
