The options you find with most Locknetics electromagnetic locks are listed below.
Model 70 is special in that some of the options are included as standard while others aren't even available at all.
The idea, then, is this lock was specially designed for certain applications.
One example would be that of a remote monitoring station set up to monitor all the locks in the building.
The MBS and DSM options are only used when remote monitoring is being used.
Remote monitoring involves a separate room with a control panel indicating the status of all doors in a building.
The MBS and DSM options are really just switches than send a signal back to the control panel when activated.
You don't need these if you don't use remote monitoring.
Another common use of model 70 is that of a replacement lock. It uses the same templating as the other standard Lockentics models so no redrilling is required.
With the built-in cable, installation time is greatly reduced. Even if you don't use the MBS or DSM features this model can still be thought of as a good buy.
Note that models 40 and 70 were released at about the same time, but model 40 has since been discontinued.
