Why use a touch bar in the first place?
Mag locks require a release to unlock the door.
The lock doesn't know if you are inside or out, so a release mechanism
must be provided on both sides of the door.
What if the 692 fails?
Some brands of Touch Bars come with a backup push button that is mounted to the wall.
The push button can be activated should the bar fail.
Locknetics brand Touch Bars do not come with this backup push button.
You should order a push button to be safe. Note that some city codes require this backup.
What's the difference between 672 and 692 Smart bar?
The 672 is mechanical and requires pushing the bar in to activate.
The 692 uses an infrared beam. When someone touches the bar they break the beam, activating the device.
What are my switch options?
The 692 comes standard with a DPDT switch. This basically means it uses two sets of wires.
Having a second set of wires means one set goes to the power supply and the other
to a secondary unit such as an alarm system.
