Tips From The Pros |
There are only a few reasons to bump up from model 510 to the model 515, and they both have to do with amps.
If you are controlling more than two doors the amps offered by model 510 may not be quite enough.
It's not unusual these days to have a single unit power four doors or more and the 515 is the model for the job.
A few odd hardware components will draw more than the 1/2 amp we're used to.
Electrified locks and electrified exit devices will sometimes have a higher draw.
Be sure to check the specifications of the components of your system and add up the total amp draw before ordering a power supply.
We've provided a number of help files on this page and it's wise to use them.
They detail product options and possible configurations that really pinpoint the capabilities of the models.

Product Options |
EIR - Emergency Interface Relay Ties into fire alarm system.
Unlocks any door(s) when alarm sounds.
This module has it's own separate area to plug into the main board.
DCM - Dual Control Module Operates two doors idependently.
Plugs into main board on base unit.
TDM - Time Delay Module Regulates door unlock time.
Plugs into DCM.
You must use a DCM module as it is the only pace to plug in the TDM.
If the unlock time is the same for both doors, one TDM is fine.
If unlock time is different for each door, buy two TDM cards. The DCM can accept two TDM cards.
CMR - Control Module Rack Holds additional DCM modules.
Not needed when controlling 1 or 2 doors (1 DCM plugs into main board).
When controlling 3 or more doors, use the CMR to hold additional DCM modules.
