Tips From The Pros |
Model 510 is designed to be very flexible which makes life easier for us all.
Configuring the options, however, can get confusing without knowing a few pointers.
As shipped from the factory, the 510 can control a single door.
You can plug in the optional EIR module if you need to tie into the fire alarm system.
Adding this one option makes the 510 function exactly as does model 505.
The next module to consider is the DCM (Dual Control Module).
If you plug this module into the base unit, you can now independently control 2 separate doors.
The DCM contains two open slots allowing you to plug in either one or two optional timer cards (TDM).
Timer cards are for setting the unlock time for the doors.
If the unlock time is to be the same for both doors you only need to buy one timer card.
Add a second TDM if each door needs it's own unlock time setting.
See our guide to Locknetics Timers.

Product Options |
EIR - Emergency Interface Relay Ties into fire alarm system.
Unlocks any door(s) when alarm sounds.
This module has it's own separate area to plug into the main board.
DCM - Dual Control Module Operates two doors idependently.
Plugs into main board on base unit.
TDM - Time Delay Module Regulates door unlock time.
Plugs into DCM.
You must use a DCM module as it is the only pace to plug in the TDM.
If the unlock time is the same for both doors, one TDM is fine.
If unlock time is different for each door, buy two TDM cards. The DCM can accept two TDM cards.
CMR - Control Module Rack Holds additional DCM modules.
Not needed when controlling 1 or 2 doors (1 DCM plugs into main board).
When controlling 3 or more doors, use the CMR to hold additional DCM modules.
