MBS - Magnetic Bond Sensor: Sends a signal the lock and armature are properly engaged.
DSM - Door Status Monitor: Sends a signal when the door is open.
RTD - Relocking Time Delay: A separate unit spliced into the wiring that controls unlock time.
DSM and MBS are on-board switches. Once activated, the switches send a signal back to the
power supply or to a remote monitor. Most often, a remote monitor is located in a security
room that contains monitor panels. The panels have lights indicating the status of
one or more doors.
Many times these panels will tie to an alarm system that will trigger under
certain conditions. For example, a gate being opened after business hours
will trigger the alarm.
