Tips From The Pros

The fittings on the 390G are specially designed for outdoor use. If you follow the installation instructions closely you will increase the life of the unit even when exposed to the elements.

If you order the optional MBS or DSM switches it is important to check the installation from time to time. Being outdoors, debris can build up on the parts over time stop the switches from working properly. The cure is simple, just wipe off the exposed components to remove the debris.

Two armature brackets are shipped in the box, but you will only use one. Just toss out the one you don't need.

A mounting bracket for the mag lock also is furnished. This bracket mounts to the gate first, then the mag lock mounts to the bracket. It makes for a fast an easy installation.

Product Options

MBS - Magnetic Bond Sensor: Sends a signal the lock and armature are properly engaged.

DSM - Door Status Monitor: Sends a signal when the door is open.

RTD - Relocking Time Delay: A separate unit spliced into the wiring that controls unlock time.

DSM and MBS are on-board switches. Once activated, the switches send a signal back to the power supply or to a remote monitor. Most often, a remote monitor is located in a security room that contains monitor panels. The panels have lights indicating the status of one or more doors.

Many times these panels will tie to an alarm system that will trigger under certain conditions. For example, a gate being opened after business hours will trigger the alarm.
