Fire rated doors must be self closing and self latching.
Normally, you cannot use a closer with hold open on a fire rated door.
The 4040SE allows you to hold the door open and still meet code.
Upon receiving a signal from the fire alarm system, the holder will release
allowing the closer to close the door.
This closer is non-handed and may be mounted on either side of the door.
