Model NumbersHow to decode model numbers No doubt, Glynn Johnson model numbers are tricky. There are many options available which leads to most of the confusion. Breaking down the numbers into their component parts makes life easier. The 100 series (shown) is used in the examples below.
The type of unit is then added to the model number by indicating either ''S'' or ''H''. Using ''S'' indicates a stop only while ''H'' means stop + hold open. For example a 104S would indicate a stop only. If you need the hold open feature things get even trickier. There are several types of hold open available. "H" means standard hold open, "HP" means integral stop type hold open and "F" means friction type hold open. If that's not bad enough, there are subcategories among these hold open types. This is where it is best to view the data sheets, but as a general rule use and "ADJ" type hold open. "ADJ" stands for adjustable, which means you have more flexibility during the installation process. If your doors and frames are factory prepped than any type hold open is fine. But if your doing a retrofit application, look for the "ADJ" designation. It will make your life a lot easier. |
