Locks - Dorma

Dorma produces 3 basic lock series:

CL600 - Tubular locks for budget applications.

CL700 - Grade 2 locks for medium duty applications.

CL800 - Grade 1 locks, extra heavy duty.

Quick Tips

These locks were designed after the old Schlage D series locks. A few years back, Schlage changed the design of the D series and it became Schlage's ND series. Many people did not like the new design as they found it harder to install and more difficult to maintain. The CL800 series is a direct replacement of the old D series, making it very popular among installers.

STEP 1: Select a Series:

The CL600 series is rarely ordered as it is for low budget applications only. The CL700 series is a great value for low traffic applications. Small offices are the perfect application. The CL800 is extra heavy duty and works for all types of commercial construction.

STEP 2: Select a Lever Style:

Two lever styles are available.

STEP 3: Select a Function:

The common functions ordered are:

• 10 - Passage
• 40 - Privacy
• 53 - Entry
• 70 - Classroom
• 80 - Storeroom

If ordering the Grade 1 CL800 series, you merely plug in the function to the series number. CL810 for passage, CL840 for privacy, etc.  The same is true for the other series, you just change the first number after "CL".  CL710, CL610, etc.

STEP 4: Select a Finish:

The last step is the same as for any other lock, specifying the finish. Dorma locks are available in all the standard commercial finishes.
