8000 Series

Dorma 8000 SeriesThe 8000 series comes in two versions: 8300 rim exit device for single doors and 8400 for surface vertical rod devices for pairs of doors.

If you need the fire-rated version simply add "F" to the beginning of the model number: F8300 and F8400.

Finishes for the 8000 series are "sprayed" finishes applied much the same way a car is painted.  689 is specified for aluminum finish and 695 for dark bronze.

9000 Series

Dorma 9000 SeriesThe 9000 series is a little more difficult to order, but only because there are more options available.

Model 9300 is the standard model (shown) and is called a rim exit device.  It is used on single doors.  It may also be used on pairs of doors if the frame contains a mullion.

Model 9400 has surface mounted vertical rods and is the most common for pairs of doors.  Rods extend up to the header and down to the floor for latching.

Model 9500 is similar to the rim exit device, but uses a mortise lock for latching.  It is called a mortise device for that reason.

Model 9100 uses concealed vertical rods and requires special preparation of the door.  Pathways must be drilled vertically inside the door to allow for the concealed rods.
