Overview

Dorma produces 3 basic closer models:

• 8616
• 8916
• TS93

8616 - Universal model that can be used on most any door in a commercial building.

8916 - Same as 8616 but with ''Thinking Backcheck''. This feature allows the closer to adapt to the opening and is designed for high traffic doors.

TS93 - A track style closer provides the ultimate in closer efficiency. Because a track using a moving pivot point, the closer can apply equal force through each point of the closing cycle.

The complete line of closers is easy to order.

The 8616 and 8916 models are "universal" closers that are non-handed and meet ADA requirements.  They look the same from the outside so they can be mixed and matched throughout a single building.

You simply specify the finish and you're done.

Note these models come with a 25 year warranty.  Couple the warranty with their reasonable price and it's easy to see why both models are a great value.

Quick Tips

The bolt hole alignment for 8616 and 8916 is 12'' x 3/4'', center to center. The narrow spacing of the vertical holes allows these closer to mount to most any door or frame.

Doors equipped with the TS93 will open much easier than doors with rack and pinion closers with track arms. The TS93 is a closer with regular arm operating efficiency and track arm aesthetics. When necessary, push side installation provides the benefits of track arm assemblies with the closer mounted to the door and the track mounted to the stop, creating a more tamper-resistant application.

Due to the track arm, you must specify mounting style when ordering.  This is simply a matter of specifying either PUSH or PULL side mounting.

Specify "T" for pull side mount.

Specify "PT" for push side mount.
