There are 2 types of locks.

DL2700

DL2800
DL3000
DL4100

The DL2700 is the basic unit. It must be programmed at the keypad. It has no audit trail and cannot use software.

The other models can be programmed at the keypad, but may use software as well. These models have built-in memory to store an audit trail.

All model numbers are listed below with their features.

The two best choices are easy to determine.

DL2700

DL4100

Model DL4100 is a new model with more memory. It is also less expensive than the other two models (DL2800, DL3000).

So it really comes down to just two model choices:

DL2700 - basic unit
DL4100 - includes audit trail and works with software

A prox reader may be added to any model.

Prox readers allow the use of HID or compatible cards.

Adding ''P'' before the model number indicates a prox reader is included:

PDL2700
PDL4100

The key override can be confusing.

All models come with a key override standard.

It allows a person to enter with a key instead of a code.

The standard ''KO'' version is shown. You may also specify a specific key brand if your building uses a key system.

But specifying a key brand changes everything. It changes from a standard cylinder type (shown) to a figure 8 type called an IC Core.

The lever will be prep'd for the IC Core you specify, but you must furnish your own core.

NOTE: Most people misuse the key override.

It is intended to be used for emergency entry only. Keys should only be given to security personnel, fire or police.

If you hand out keys to managers, for example, you have just defeated the integrity of the system. Keys may be copied plus key use will not be recorded in the Audit Trail. If you plan on handing out keys do not buy this lock. Better to save your money than to buy a system that is already defeated.

The software comes in 2 versions.

USB One cable end is USB	Serial One cable end is Serial type
The software is the same in both versions. The only difference is one end of the cable. No one really buys the Serial type anymore.

The Cables bring it all together.

Software is loaded onto the laptop.

The laptop is carried to the lock location.

The two-pronged cable end plugs into the lock.

Use the software to upload code combinations. Also use the software to download the Audit Trail.

If you don't have a laptop, you may also buy an auxilliary device to transfer data. It is model AL-DTMIII. But it is not cheap. Better to buy a cheap laptop than introduce another device into the system.

A "P" before the model indicates a prox reader is included.

A prox reader can be added to any model. For example, a PDL4100 is the same as a DL4100 but with a prox reader included.

It is indicated by a ''P'' before the model number.

Select a Finish and Key Type

Alarm Locks come in all the standard finishes, with 626 satin chrome being the most popular.

All locks come standard with a key override in the lever.

KO = standard key override

Optionally, you may specify a specific key brand should you have a key system for your building. But specifying a key brand changes the type of cylinder. It automatically becomes an IC core type.

The lever will come prep'd to accept the brand of core you specify, but you must furnish your own core.
